Palin May Be Hot, But Im Cold To Her
Sarah Palin is the epitomy of everything that is wrong with politics in America. Allow me to present one teeny tiny example. Do you remember the ‘Bridge to Nowhere’? During her acceptance speech after McCain picked her as his veep, she claimed that she never supported it. In fact, she was one of the loudest voices pushing for the earmark!!! Now she claims that she never supported it??? What a crock of shit! I FUCKING HATE LYING POLITICIANS! If she simply changed her mind and decided that it was not a good project, that would be one thing. But no, the BITCH had to go and lie about it. One of the biggest examples of pork earmarks in history and she goes and lies about her support for it??? On top of that, when she finally did see the light and had the project canceled, SHE KEPT THE DAMN MONEY!!! I swear, I hate this woman.
Im Eriq Kiltz and I approved this message.

She’ll change her suit depending on who’s paying her. Is she up for mayor? Earmarks. Governor? No more earmarks. VP? Padded bra.
I heard that she even asked Suger Ray’s girlfriend if she can buy her halo in preparation for a run for God.
Do y’all really think a MILF will boost McCain’s chances ?
Unfortunately, yes.
I actually watched her speech last night and thought she sounded pretty good.
A breath of fresh air!
A breath of hot air maybe. Kristen, what part did you like? Was it the part where she said that she championed reform to end earmark spending (which is a lie by the way since she actually requested 750 million dollars in earmarks which is the highest request per capita in the nation). Or was it the part where she claimed to have told Congress no regarding the ‘bridge to nowhere’ (which is another lie since she was one of the first pushing for its being built). Or maybe you liked the part where she said Obama has not written a single major law or reform (which is normal for a junior senator and in fact he co-sponsored several anti-terrorism bills). Or perhaps you liked the part where she accused Obama’s tax plan as costing the American people hundreds of billions of dollars (which is also false as under his plan taxes to Americans would actually decrease by 80 billion). So, which part did you find so good because I cant find much of anything I liked about her speech.
I liked the part where she said that they would work on lowering taxes, gas prices and try to make normal living easier for the public. Also she said that since she has been governor she started the alsaska pipeline to help with the oil crisis that we seem to be having. You know normally I don’t really pay much attention to politics but as I was flipping channels that night I for some reason stopped on her and she sounded good and it sparked my interest. You should be proud that I am paying attention to politics.
Kristen – I love the way in which you have shown an interest in whats going on with our country. I think it’s important for young parents to be informed and to instill a sense of Country in their children. What happens politically affects every facit of your life – all or our lives. Our societies survival depends on these men and women that govern our country. Maybe someday you will develop a passion for politic like Eric and I. Don’t be intimidated and keep your thoughts coming. Remember, men with the soul of a John McCain shed their blood and gave of their lives so that you and I can live in freedom. Without such men you and I may be speaking Japanese or German.
Kristen, I know that you dont usually watch political speeches but let me tell you something. I have never seen a politician who doesnt promise to lower taxes. As for Palin’s plan to lower gas prices by drilling more oil, this will not solve our problems. Even if gas prices go down in the short term, we will still have the same problems in another decade. Instead of spending hundreds of millions of dollars on oil, why not spend hundreds of millions of dollars on alternative energy? This woman is a liar and I do not believe a word she says and I would hope that you would try to look at her speech objectively and not just see that she is articulate.
Pop, you are not implying that I am trying to intimidate Kristen are you? In addition, while I admire John Mccain for his service, I do not think that a soldier automatically makes a good politician.
My response to the post “In Headline news…” supplementst his response. I agree that drillling for more oil will not solvev our problems long term. I just advocate it until alternate energy sources are developed.
I don’t agree that Sarah Palin is a liar – at least no more than any other politician! Her substance goes far beyond her articulation and think that will be proven after she becomes Vice President.
Eric, I’m not implying at all that you are trying to intimadate Kristen. I’m just trying to tell Kristen that you have spent a great deal of time and interest in research and studyibg current events and the political process. As such you have developed some very strong belliefs and expresss yourself with passion. Anger and intensity comes out in your responses. I’m jus tencouraging Kristen to not let that keep her from expressing her opinion becausenot nly is she entitled to her opinion but sometimes she may see something through the fog and rheateric.
Military duty does not make a good politician but what John McCain did atests to his character. I’ll take that over many other things.
Pop Sarah Palin is the very embodiment of everything you claim to abhor about government. She is a walking; talking example of a lying politician who pushes for earmarks as long as it suits her interests. Do you not understand that she wanted $400,000,000 for a bridge that would serve 50 people???!!! How can you not agree that she is a liar? Research the facts I listed yourself? I agree that she is energetic and articulate but I thought you saw beyond that. Look at Bush, he is the worst public speaker I have ever seen and you claim to like him. I like Obama for being articulate but I acknowledge that there is more to being a good politician than being a good speaker.
It’s interesting that when Kristen says she likes the candidate you support you encourage her to look past the fog and rhetoric but you wont do the same for Obama.
There are two sides to every story. I guess we have to choose which side we believe. I never said I support her because she is energetic and articulate. I just admire those qualities.
By the way — I like some things about Bush and dislike others.
Obama is a good speaker when he has a script – not so good spontaneously. What I don’t like is that he is a tax and spend Democrat and supports big government and all the regulations that interferes with the free maarket place.
Obama is impressive in many ways. But, read, “Obama Nation”,it makes one think… Believe me, I have tried to look through the fog surrounding Obama hoping for things to look better when the air clears. But all I keep seeing is fog.
I’m just trying to encourage Kristen to stay in there and to think. She brings a perspective all her own. You and I will never know what it’s like to walk in her shoes.
I started to read ‘Obama Nation’. I couldn’t finish it because the argument’s were full of conjecture and fact less.
Ah, there’s nothing like coming late to a party. I can’t add much to the Palin commentary, because I haven’t actually looked up stuff on her myself yet, but I wanted to address this from the comments:
I liked the part where she said that they would work on lowering taxes…
Lowering taxes can be a wonderfully helpful thing. Both sides talk about doing it — the difference is that the Republican plans to do so isn’t for you or me. This article goes into it in more detail and is a pretty easy read (spoken as someone who’s gotten incredibly lost in econ and business articles), but the main points are this:
Bush’s tax cuts expire in 2010, so whoever’s in charge will play a big part in what comes next. An analysis of Obama’s and McCain’s plans, done by The Tax Center, a joint venture of the Urban Institute and the Brookings Institution (Washington think tanks) found that
+ Obama would keep Bush’s tax cuts for people making $250,000 per year or less. People who make more than a quarter of a million dollars a year would lose their tax cuts.
+ People making $600,000 per year (that wealthiest 1 percent that Democrats like to talk so much about) would have their annual taxes go up by nearly $94,000 under Obama. Under McCain their taxes would drop by nearly $49,000.
+ People making around $19,000 per year would see their taxes drop by about $570 per year under Obama and a whopping $21 under McCain.
+ And for those making between $37,600 and $66,400 — taxes would drop by $1,118 under the Obama plan and $325 under the McCain plan.
There’s some food for thought.
In regard to, “Obama Nation”: The reference section of the book appears to be more than conjecture.
I have also heard that most of the ‘references’ are anything but. Granted, I havent taken the time to research that myself so I dont know if it is true.
