Humanity Needs A Ball Transplant
When did humanity lose its balls? Why do we sit around on our asses and let ‘politicians’ tell us what to do and how to live our lives? Virtually every nation on earth oppresses its citizenry on some level. Cuba wont let its people call their relatives in the US and the people just deal with it. North Korea wont let its people walk 3 miles to visit their families in South Korea and the people just deal with it. China wont let its people go to church and the people just deal with it. The US tells its people that relief supplies will go to hurricane victims and then instead uses them in its own office buildings and the people just deal with it. When will we stop letting ourselves be lied to and start demanding truth? When will humans realize that EVERYONE on Earth has basic rights and we need to stop letting our governments take away those rights. Political power only lasts as long as a politicians subjects allow him to remain in power. Humanity needs to grab ourselves by the balls and wield whatever weapon we can, whether that be a gun or a vote and tell our leaders to shape the hell up!

I agree with you on the most part. But it does sound contradictory on your part. You oppose the war in Irag, yet what the USA is trying to do is give those people the right to live their lives in peace and without fear.
The first part of your blog says that we shouldn’t let politicians tell us what to do and how to live our lives. I couldn’t agree more. Again contradictory on your part because that is just what the Democrats want to do – dictate what we do and tell us how to live our lives. Obama is the poster child for government control of our lives. The Dems wnat to control what we have and what we do with it. An analogy would be an Olympic Athelete. The liberal point of view woud have an athlete that wins 8 Gold medals because he work ed hard, trained hard, and sacrificed for years to share these medals with less gifted and dedicated members of his team.
Citizens need to stand up and fight for their freedoms – as the american patriots did many years ago. But many people around the work don’t know any other type of life and aren’t aware of how other parts of the world live. Once they get a taste of freedom they will raise up. It’s our job to get the message that their is a better life out there.
Obama and the democrats want to dictate your education and share “your” wealth with less deserving. This is basic liberal tenants. They want to give your hard earned money to others and tell you how to live your life. The Republicans do this last part as well. This is why I consider myself an Independent.
I never said I oppose the war in itself. What oppose is our government thinking we have the right to tell Iraq that they cannot have the same technology that we ourselves have. Technology that Iraq never used against us. I oppose the Iraqi government sitting around on their asses letting us do all their dirty work for them. I do recognize that Saddam Hussein was a brutal dictator but if we had gone to war on the premise of just removing him from power, and not this weapons of mass destruction bullshit then I would be more in favour of our presence there.
I’m not sure why you continue to think that im a Democrat because I have made it clear on many occasions that I am not. I have also made it clear on many occasions that I do not think that Obama is perfect. I have simply said that I think he is the best candidate in this current round of political circus. You say that Democrats want to dictate what I do with my life. Well let me tell you what I have experienced in my few short years as a voting adult. When I turned 18, I was able to check out a library book without fear that the government knew what I was reading. I was able to fly without government agents checking my baggage. I was able to purchase items from overseas without a record of that purchase going on some government registry. If I broke the law, I was secure in the knowledge that I would be afforded due process in matters of search warrants. I was able to drive down the streets of any major city and the only police cars I would see would be local cops. Now, I buy every book I read with cash because even though I may only be reading a Stephen King novel, I don’t want the government to know that about me. I frequently receive a note from the TSA in my baggage when I fly saying that my underwear had been looked through by some security inspector. The government now knows that I import my socks from a clothing company in South Africa. Should I ever break the law, I have no protection against unreasonable search and seizure. I drive down the streets of Salt Lake City and see cars with the words ‘Department of Homeland Security Police’ on them. All of this has happened under a republican president and congress. I have become afraid of my own government and it should not be that way. Government should be afraid of its people, not the other way around. Bush gets on television and makes statements about having to take away my rights in the name of national security. Well I adhere to the statement made by Benjamin Franklin, “Those who would give up a little liberty to obtain a little safety deserve neither”.
Pop, I am going to say this again in hopes that it finally sinks in. I. Am. Not. A. Democrat. I am a freethinking American who votes my conscience. I have voted for candidates from both parties. I have volunteered for candidates for both parties.
I think the problem going on now is one of an entirely different order than we might wish to imagine. First off, I think human life is, at this point in our history, by definition, quite cheap. At 6 billion and counting, we’ve simply dissolved whatever value our individual lives might once have had completely away. Humankind is going through major changes in how it sets up its own basic life support system; I tend to think the rugged days of individualism are a thing of the past. What this means is, those of us who might fancy ourselves as “individualists” today are, by definition, throwbacks to period in human history already done for. i.e, We who like to imagine we “think for ourselves” are like cavemen struggling amidst a burgeoning sea of plugged-in drones who largely support our society, now. The capitalist-driven faction of our world, ironically set up by individualism itself, has reached a phase now wherein it must continue to be supported by a culture of faceless masses without the necessity to think for itself. i.e, It (once “we”) now has tech to do its thinking for it – -cellphones memorize our loved one’s phone numbers, iPods’ programmings select our choice of music, etc. I’m willing to bet my life that most Americans today plugged into their iPods and PS3s, etc, really couldn’t think for themselves and furthermore, wouldn’t really want to. Let’s be honest here – - why would you want to think for yourself if you can have your blackberry, iPod, or celly do it for you? Face it – thinking is going out of style. And that’s as it should be – - mankind has been burdened with having to think for itself for far too long, if you ask me. Thinking itself is overrated – let the robots do that.
You think I’m being snarky or sarcastic ? Hahah, get your iPhone to think for you again. Kiltz: Give up your dream and hope of humanity “growing an extra set of testicles” any time in the future, son. And that’s because the balls we once had dropped long ago. And now they’ve shriveled up, soon to be relegated to the spurious sections of our anatomy; how much you wanna bet that sexual reproduction for our species will be the next thing to go, after our individuality? It isn’t difficult for me to imagine a near future where most males are simply neutered at birth, and parthenogenesis becomes the new human standard for reproduction of our species.
Yes I’m suggesting that not only are “balls” swiftly becoming a thing of the past, along with individualism and thinking; but more to the point, if you or a loved one happen to *be* or *know* a male specimen of our species who still reads, thinks, and has balls — simply urge them (or yourself, whichever the case may be) to enjoy what they got while they got it — cuz all that shit is being relegated to the “recycle bin” of humanity’s evolution, even as we post.
Certain technology in the wrong hands coud be devestating. I believe Hussein had WMD’s. After all, he had 12 years and 17 United Nation dictates to get rid of them or hide them.
I don’t suggest that you are a Democrat. I’m just concerned that you support a man that has clearly shown a lack of understanding American history and his contempt for what made America great. Extremeism at either end is disastrous for our country.
I don’t believe in government intrusion either but sometimes national security takes presidence. Search warrants are still required when obtaining wiretaps, etc. You say that the current situation occurred under a Republicaan president and Congress but the last I knew was that we have a Democratic Congress. What’s amazing is that President Bush has gotten nearly everything he has asked for from a Democratic Congress. I’m willing to give up a small amount of inconvenience to assure tha my family will be safe in the future. Our responsibility is to assure that the government doesn’t overstep it’s boundaries. I don’t want to give up my liberties but due to the of today’s concerns I’m willing to let the TSA look in my bags.
I know you are a free thinker – I admire that about you. I thnk I am a free thinker but people mostly think I am a Republican. That is becauase I totally reject what the Democrats offer and only some of what the Republicans offer. I don’t like any labels but I am willing to be labeled as a Independent if labels are necessary.
Your comments about “individualism” and “drones” is interesting. These two terms are indicative of why I don’t like Democrats. The democrats suppress individualism and encourage drones or clones…everyone the same. I totally agree that people have lost the ability or desire to think for themsleves. We have become slaves to our technology. Imagine actually reading a book and deciding for yourself! The same goes for the Bible. Most people let others tell them what they are reading in the Bible, but look how many ways it has been interpreted – not necessarily accurately. People are blindly led by “faith” – I reject faith and choose to make up my own mind. The Bible is written and edited by men and revised over the centuries. Much can be learned from the Bible but I reject it as law coming from Christ (God) because I don’t believe in God as preceived by the masses. I have my own value system based on my own research and experience.
You and I are not all that different – in fact I think we are very much alike and agree more than it seems. We’re lucky to live in a country where we can openly have these discussions. I only have a problem with your support of Obama. I would have no problem if you thought he was clearly the best available but as the best of two evils he falls short in my eyes. I think he is dangerous and I fear for my childen and grandchildren and the dumbing up of America and the loss of our heritage and way of life.
I wish we had time to discuss face to face…maybe soon.
Saddam never once used his weapons against us. Why do we take it upon ourselves to police the world? How is it any of our business? Thats like me flying to Boston to stop a bully from beating up on someone. That wouldnt make much sense…
How does Obama show a lack of understanding of what made America great and our history? He is one of the smartest people I have ever seen as well as being one of the most patriotic people I have ever heard. He is the epitomy of the American dream and encourages others to take advantage of the things that make our country great.
Every dictator in history has used the excuse of national security to justify taking away the rights of its people. If we allow that to continue then we are as guilty as those who oppress us.
Have you not heard of Bush’s warrentless wiretapping?
The Patriot Act and the Homeland Security act were approved by a republican congress. You say that we are responsible to make sure the governemnt doesnt overstep its boundries. Well when are you going to step in? How far is to far for you? Me, im reaching my breaking point rather quickly.
I didnt make any comment about individualism or drones. That was someone else responding to my post.
The reason Saddam never once used his weapons against us is because we kept him from doing so. He certainly used them against his own people! I agree that we can’t police the world, but we can police those that mean to destroy us. Having left Iraq the way it was would have left us more vulnerable. Besides, we liberated millions of people. Remember the mass graves discovered. We can’t fight everybody but you have to pick your battles. Why not fly to Boston to stop a bully – if you can. Would you not cross the street to stop a mugging? It’s only a matter of distance and resources.
Where do you get that Obama is patriotic? Have you not heard of the links to subversive organizations in his website? Have you not heard of his friendship with the Pentagon bomber? Have you not heard of Rev. Wright? He can white wash all these things but it doesn’t fly. “If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck….!”
You think he encourages others to take advantage of the things that make our country great? What he does is encourage people to take advantage of all that the government has to offer at tax payer expense – meaning yours and my money. I’d rather take advantage of what I am able to achieve by hard work, perserverance – achieved without government interference.
I agree with what you say about dictators but I don’t think President Bush rises to that level yet. It’s up to all of us by being politically aware, getting involved, and using the voting booth to see that no dictator ever comes into power.
Yes – I’m worried about warrantless wire tapping. But I understand the need, have knowledge of the investigative advantages, but I doubt that I will ever be the target of such. Troubled times begets different behaviors. As long as their is a limit or a renewal I can live with it.
I doubt that you have been inconvenienced much by the Homeland Security act. But, if you are concerned, use your energies to sway change. Again, I admire your involvement. I hope that you are willing to hear different views. I still think we are not as far apart as it might seem.
I understand that you wern’t the author of the “drones” comment. But it does express a view of the democratic party. The are the ones you need to worry about if you are concerned about freedom and individual liberties – and those extremists on the right.
Tell you what! Why don’t you and I get together and take the things we agree with on the right, that which we agree with on the left, and form our own party? We could call it the Libertarian Party! Oh yeah…that name has already been taken.
Regarding Saddam, the whole point of my original post was to point out that people are apathetic and let their leaders walk all over them. I certainly dont expect Italy or New Zealand to help me change my government so why do we think that we have to fight the Iraqi’s battles for them? Why not fly 2000 miles to stop a bully? Because the person across the street can help them. If I saw a mugging across the street I would certainly go help.
I have heard of the links but I have also spent hours on his website and not found one of them. I dont believe in something just because I hear it on the radio. I have heard of his ‘relationship’ with the Pentagon bomber but again, I have not heard any irrefutable evidence. As for Rev Wright, read the post above by my friend Shaun. He is a little bit crazy but he still says some interesting things so I still listen to him.
I paid for my degree with government money in the form of VA grants and federal loans. That money comes from taxpayers. With government help, I have become a productive member of society. I have no problem whatsoever with government helping people better themselves so long as those people contribute something back. Obama has said time and time again he doesnt want people to live on welfare all their life.
I agree with you about Bush not being a dictator -yet. Going along with my original post however, I saw that he was a fool during his first term and so did not vote for him. I am ashamed that so many other Americans did not see through his rhetoric and let him continue to serve.
Due process has served this country for over 200 years. Our own history has shown that whenever we deny people due process, nothing good can come. Remember the Interment camps? We have one just down the road from Salt Lake. If we allow the government to continue tapping someones communication lines without a warrent where will it end? How many other liberties will we give up? The constitution guarentees Americans inalienable rights to include protection from unreasonable search and seizure. If you deny yourself those rights, then you are as guilty as those who take them away from you. Our country has been safe from terrorism for hundreds of years without warrentless searches. The attacks against our country could have been prevented if the government had better internal communication, warrentless searches aside.
I am affected by the Homeland Security Act every day. Just today, I was on a train and a TSA cop did a random search of my bag. Did that inconveience me much? No, but I dont feel comfortable with having someone looking through my things just because im trying to get to work. I HATE seeing Homeland Security Police cars driving around. This is not supposed to be a police state with federal agents on every road. This is supposed to be a free and open society but I sure dont feel free these days.
I more than understand your feelings regarding the Democrat party but it has been my experience that those on the right have been so busy blaming the left for their problems that nothing gets done. I place blame on both parties. I dont think one is more or less bad, I think they are equally bad. I hate the concept of parties, I wish we just focused on the person and not what party they are part of. I pride myself on my ablility to remain objective and fair. I know you think that I am leaning toward the left but in fact, I would like to think that I am right in the middle.
You all lost me a long time ago.
Why fight other peoples battles for them?…because that’s what we do.
Why haven’t you found the links in Obama’s website?…because he removed them when called on it. He can’t even stand up for his convictions.
Regarding your Federal loans…you will pay them back with interest. Sound like good businesss practice. You won’t pay back your free health care if national health care comes about…the taxpayers will pay it.
President Bush will historically be remembered as one of our greatest presdents. Straight talking and firm in his beliefs.
I believe in due prpocess! Our constsitution guarantees you the right to, “life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness.” The constitution does not guarantee you an “education, and healh care.” The Federal governments job is to provide national security (free and open society), and assure equality. It is very limited. That’s the way I like it!
I too blame both parties, I just blame the Democrats more. Under our system we can’t just suppport the person because that person often represents things we don’t agree with. This is why I call myself an independent. I’m not in the middle but close…slightly to the right. I am a Fiscal conservative and a social Liberal. I think you are closer to me then you think.
Why do we keep having to fight other peoples battles? If the world knows that the US will run to their rescue everytime their leaders piss on them they will never stand on their own.
Have you seen these links on Obamas website? I have been on his website several times a week since the day he announced his candidacy. I have NEVER seen any of these links. I have heard nor found any proof that these links ever existed. Sean Hannity sure seems to think they did but he himself admitted that he never saw them himself.
What of my VA grants? I will not pay those back. What of the time I was getting unemployment benefits? Without that government money, I would have had to drop out of school and would be living on the street. I used the governments assistance to help me get back on my feet. As far as health care, I dont think you will ever see it my way unless you become a practitioner yourself. I see every day patients who I have to turn away from services because their insurance wont cover something and they cannot afford medications which cost hundreds. Insurance has failed America. Public health is in everyones best interest. Obamas plan would require recipeints to recieve preventative exams every year which have proven to help find issues before they become serious. Without a patients recieving an annual physical, they would be ineligable for services.
Just because President Bush believes something doesnt make it right. Im sure he is firm in his convictions but then again so am I and I disagree with him. Therefore, in my opinion he is not one of the greatest presidents. I miss Eisenhower…
Due process is a wonderful thing but do you think those people living in Internment Camps were very happy? That was a bleak period in our history and it must not be repeated. The Constitution must prevail and it will not if programs such as warrentless wiretapping are allowed to continue.
I do support just the person. I have never found a politician whom I agree with 100%. I look at each candidate and base my opinion mostly on his/her moral character. I do look at issues but every politician says they will do one thing and then does another so I dont put to much stock in what they say as a candidate.
I’m sure the innocent people of the world’s totalitarian governments have no concept of the United States or that all they have to do is look to the USA to save them. I agree they should stand up to these leaders and demand their rights. But sometimes people need help. The USA was helped by other countries in its quest for freedom. Thanks to the USA there are millions of people in the world that do not have to fear their government anymore. Add to that the fact that the USA’s own interests were at stake in Iraq. Not only were we in danger from a madman with WMD but were economically in danger of losing a major oil source.
Now, I know you ar egoing to say there were no WMD in Iraq but I believe there were.
I also know you are going to say that being so dependent on oil is wrong and that we should use less oil and find other sources of energy. I totally agree. I think that government, private business, and entrepeneurs should get busy and find us other ways of obtaining power to drive our economy and way of life. When left up to their own devices and without being burdoned by governmental regulatons, etc. their is nothing better than American genious. Government should get out of the way and let the market economy do its thing which will bring prosperity to more and more Americans. Ideally the only people that are poor are those that are too sick or lazy to do better.
Democrats want to burdon properity and progress by raising taxes and government control.
I understand that Obama removed his website links as soon as they became noticed and became an issue.
You earned your VA grants. The places you worked paid in to the unemployment system, with your help through payroll deductions. Guess what, other employees paid into the unemployment pot. That means taxes of people you have never met are supporting you right now.
As long as these things are kept on a State level I have no problem. It’s just when the Federal government reaches in my pocket that I have a problem. Entitlements such as health care and education should be handled by the states, not the Federal government. I want the Federal government’s hand out of my pocket, I want the government to focus on national security and equal rights and I want to be able to turn to my state government for health care and help with education. It’s not the Federal government’s job to provide health care and education for my family – it is my responsibility. If I have trouble doing so I would look to the State for help.
I miss Eisenhower and Reagan. Both of them were firm in their beliefs anad stood by them. They were not wishy washy and would not change positions for political efficiency. Where does Obama and Clinton stand on issues? No one knows because they change positions so often. McCain has the same trouble. I admire Bush’s firm stance in Iraq and history will prove him to have taken the correct course.
Are you referring to the Iraqis at Guantanamo when you mention internment Camps? If so remember that they were captured trying to kill Ammerican soldiers. Keep in mind that they would like nothing better than to kill as many Americans as possible. They are not American citizens and aer not entitled to due process as you and I know it. They are covered by the articles of war and by letting them out will result in many more American deaths. Unlike Americans captured in Iraq where they just severed their heads and threw the bodies along side the road, Iraqi prisoners live better than they did in their own country.
I totally agree with you last paragraph. The only difference is that there would have to be a vast differnce between the candidates before I would vote for a Democrat.
Back in the 1700’s our ancestors had never lived in a democracy and they still realized that an elected government was the way to go.
I never once said I didnt think Saddam had WMD’s. You are lumping me into a broad category of all who oppose the war and I want it to stop. I have told you time and time again that I think for myself and refuse to follow the masses way of thinking just because everyone else thinks it is right. Im sure Saddam had WMD’s. I dont care if he did have WMD’s. My point is that he didnt use them against us except when we invaded and never was a threat to us. I oppose the war because we think we have the right to have WMD’s and nobody else does. Remember, we have used chemical agents against our own people just like Saddam did. Im happy to continue discussing the war and other political issues with you but dont use speculation and conjecture as arguments or we have nothing else to talk about.
We have discussed oil and energy ad naseum so I dont think there is anything else to say.
Bush’s tax breaks and unchecked spending are killing us. Why do future generations have to pay for his screw-ups?
I still dont know what these ‘links’ you refer to are.
I dont understand your comment about unemployment. Im not unemployed. I work. Nobody is supporting me but me.
I think we are going to have to agree to disagree about health care. I see things from an entirely different perspective than you and I dont think you would ever be able to see things my way unless you worked in the industry. I do have to point out one contradiction on your part. I asked you once what your plans were to pay for long-term care when you get older. You replied that you would rely on Medicare. I thought it was your responsibility to pay for your health care?
Obama hasnt changed positions. If anything he is just as firm as Bush when it comes to the war. Albeit from the opposite opinion.
I was actually referring to the Japanese internment camps. However, since you brought up Guantanamo, enemy soldiers are entitled to trial under the Third Geneva Convention. Bush thinks he is above international law and is denying them trial. What the hell? And I dont think living in a wooden crate with no toilet is very good living conditions.
Not all democrats are created equal. For example, I would suggest you read a little on Jim Matheson. He is a democrat and is seems to be your kind of guy.
You’re gettjing a little feisty! Speculation, conjecture, facts, opinions, heresay, and listening to you all go to shaping my thoughts. Who knows what data gets into your brain. But, I process this information with my values and personal foundation. If you choose not to dialogue with me is your business – I hope you continue. Believe it or not I respect your opinion and admire your research. I have learned from you.
I trust my government with WMDs, as do other freedom loving nations. We have them for defense, not offence. I don’t trust rougue nations such as Iran with WMDs. If you are referring to the use of chemical spray by military and law enforcement officials as our govenment using chemical weapons on our own citizens, I don’t think it matches up to the mass graves found in Iraq.
The Fair Tax will fix the tax problem. The links have been removed. Why shouldn’t I take my Medicare benefit? I paid into it and will never get all of what I paid back. By the way – the Fair Tax plan will replace medicare and Medicaid.
Prisoners of War are entitled to Military Tribunals not due process. Their conditions are not as you describe, they are better than many prisoners in the good ole USA.
Joe Lieberman is a democrat that is my kind of guy. JFK was my kind of guy. Ronald Reagan was my kind of guy and he use to be a Democrat.
If you are basing your decision as to who to vote for president on Character there is a clear choice. If you are looking for substace the choice is clear. If you are looking for integrity the choice is clealr. And, if yu are looking for the best candidate for Vice President the choice is clear. I plan to vote for the candidate that offers s breath of fresh air!
If you choose to base your arguments on speculation and conjecture then I suppose I cant stop you. However, I tire of defending my political status to you. I have made my position’s on most issues clear on several occasions. I dont mind hearing the opposite side of an issue but when you are arguing an issue with me, base your arguments on what I say, not what some damn liberal pundit says. I dont think the way the majority of liberals do. I oppose the war for my own reasons. I oppose big oil for my own reasons.
I dont trust my government with any weapons. I was on a train last week and some damn TSA cop was on it doing a ‘random security check’ and pulled his gun on a guy who was wearing a holstered revolver. That guy was not threatening anyone and I never even saw him touch his weapon. There is no law around here preventing someone from carrying a gun on a train. This TSA asshole was overstepping his bounds and using his weapon inappropriately. In addition, its true that our governments use of chemical weapons has been on a comparatively small scale but even Saddam started small…
Agreed that the fair tax is the way to go.
I still am baffled that you insist these ‘links’ ever even existed. I have not met a single person who has ever seen them. That just doesnt even make sense. Barack Obama is a smart man, he would put ‘links’ as you describe on his website.
You should get your medicaid benefit. Just like if we get national healthcare and I pay taxes, I should get healthcare benefits. Just like the lady who today could not afford a $1700 dollar CPAP machine to help her sleep would deserve her benefit if she paid taxes.
Military Tribunals is due process. Due process is defined as the principle that the government must respect a prisoners rights. A POW has the right to trial under the Geneva Conventions which the US signed. Bush has denied them such trials.
I like that you are willing to like Joe Liberman but I dont understand how you can like someone like him and still condemn democrats as a whole.
I hope you are willing to read a little deeper on your ‘breath of fresh air’ because she seems to be nothing but a liar.
Eric – I thought we were enjoying a friendly exchange of ideas. I was enjoying what I thought was a bond in that we are both interested in this stuff and think being politically aware is important. I don’t mean to offend you or demean you in any way. I have said several times that I admire your intensity and willingness to think for yourself and actually probe the issues. I don’t know many people that are willing to discuss politics. I credit you with youth and enthusiasm – I just hope you credit me with age and experience.
You will never know the inner feelings of someone to protect society. Hesitate and you’re dead. This isn’t meant to defend the TSA Agent on the train – I wasn’t there and I don’t know what they are trained to do.
The Fair Tax plan provides for health care. I’m not prepared enough to discuss it other then to refer you to the book.
When I refer to Democrats I am referring to the basic tenants of liberalism (Communism at the far end). Individuals like Joe Lieberman and JFK are more Republican than Democrat.
I have been reading a lot about Sarah Palin. I tried putting my thoughts on a blog but I still haven’t mastered the medium. I have also studied more about Barack Obama and it isn’t getting any better.
I am all for a friendly exchange of ideas. But I keep telling you that I dont form my opinions based on what the majority says. Just because I have the same opinion as someone doesnt mean I have the same reasons why I think that way.
I dont understand your comments about ‘inner feelings to protect society’. I completely understand the need to protect society. I have no issues with local police, I just hate seeing federal cops in my city. I dont see the threat as being as serious as they government says it is. It is one thing to secure ports of entry into the country, it is another thing entirely to look through my briefcase when I get on a commuter train.
Have you thought that maybe you should talk down on liberalism and not democrats? You have pointed out that not every Democrat is alike so it doesn’t seem fair to lump them all together.
I never once felt that your thinking was based on a majority consenscious. I have always felt that you think for yourself and sometimes think outside the box. That’s why I enjoy these exchanges.
My commenst about “inner feelings” was in reference to the anxiety and fears felt by the cops, military, etc. that protect us. Fears of injury to self (even death), fear of doing the right thing, fear for the safety of others – the list goes on.
Commuter trains in Metropolitan areas are logical targets for terrorists. Tough times dictate tough measures.
Not all democrats are alike – some are close to the middle and some are further to the left. Then there are those that are at the extreme left. The ones close to the middle and slightly further left are liberals. The extreme left are radicals.
The same analogy can be said for the Republicans only the opposite. I reject radicalism on either side. My opinions draw from close to the center – only more from the right than the left. To address your question above – democrats reflect liberal ideals in terms of fiscal policy, education, and government controls (tax and spend). I can’t reconcile these issues, hence, my comments about not being able to vote for a democrat.
You say that you acknowledge I think for myself but you base your arguments on what everybody else says.
You acknowledge that not all democrats are the same but you still use these ‘bumper sticker rhetoric’ arguments against the democratic party. Dont you think it would make more sence to just disagree with a person based on their record and not what party they belong to?
My opinions are mine from a variety of sources. You even figure in there. My complaints involve the basic tenants of the Democratic Party – how they differ from Republicans and others. I also take into consideration their personal record and position on issues. That’s why I say Joe Lieberman is more Republican than Democrat. In honor of you I will try to not make pary references anymore and focus on the individual.
